Unterhaching is a small municipality in the German Federal State of Bavaria. Just twenty minutes away from the popular city of Munich, Unterhaching provides small town comforts with easy access to the big city. Unterhaching is located in the Federal State of Bavaria in the south of Germany. Its closest big city is Munich, which is just twenty minutes away. The area is well-connected by trains that run frequently from Munich, and can be accessed by car or bus via the A8 motorway. For distant travellers, arriving by plane is best via Munich Airport.
Unterhaching receives much of its economy from Munich, however, there are several large corporations and businesses. The headquarters for Wrigley chewing gum can be found here as well as the mustard and fine foods manufacturer Develey. The area is also home to one of the area’s largest building contractors, Anton Schrobenhauser. Many of the local hotels provide conference centres for business needs, but given its close proximity, business usually takes place in Munich.
A small town of just 22,000 people, Unterhaching gains much of its culture from its neighbour Munich, where you’ll find a wealth of museums, including the Deutsches Museum, one of the oldest and the largest science museum in the world. The area is also well known for its National Theatre, where many notable musicians have performed. But to get the best the area has to offer, take part in its cuisine. Known for its famous beer festival, Oktoberfest and its delicious food consisting of Weisswurst, pretzels, soups, and more, there is something for everyone in Bavaria.
If staying in Unterhaching, there are several activities to take part in. The areas football team is well known in Germany and catching a game is a must-do. Also, being surrounded by forest, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors by hiking or cycling.
